19 Aug Brooklyn Roasting Company
Brooklyn Roasting Company in Osaka, Japan is in such a perfect spot I feel like it was built around people casually drinking coffee on a bench by the river. If you don’t come to stare at a laptop, I would highly recommend the outdoor section because the view is so peaceful. Right from the start beautiful aromas from the attached flower shop mingle with the smell of freshly extract espresso- I could have stood in that doorway all afternoon, but their bacon maple scone was calling my name. Brooklyn Roasting Company is more of an espresso cafe than a pour over and their 3D blend espresso was quite smooth and sweet with an almost walnut aftertaste.
For those that want to get work done on the go, there is a very large worktable, which to my amazement has enough outlets for a full house of laptops. No more stalking people with one eye on your dying battery. Not at Brooklyn. The atmosphere was largely industrial with hanging plants and old factory lighting. It’s rare to find a good division of seating in a cafe, but I felt like with the social outdoors or confined to a couple of side tables, there was plenty of quiet space to work without turning the cafe into a library. I’ve seen several more cafes pop up over the years around Osaka and I’m not surprised. Brooklyn Coffee Company knows how to make a good cafe.
